Animal shelters across Canada depend on the dedication and hard work of volunteers to help care for the tens of thousands of animals admitted each year. Each volunteer brings a unique set of skills; whether they provide care for the animals, share their internet or photography skills or assist with fundraising, their contribution is priceless. This year, the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies helped our members recognize their volunteers’ hard work by sending each nominated volunteer a personalized ‘thank you’.
CFHS members were invited to nominate volunteers who have shown tremendous dedication and generosity in donating their time and effort to the animal shelter. The nomination applications illustrated how important these volunteers are in the operations of each of the shelters. Based on these submissions, the CFHS was pleased to be able to provide recognition packages for over 50 volunteers across Canada.
The packages included a certificate of appreciation from CFHS Chief Executive Officer Steve Carroll and President Robin Jackson, as well as a very special Marley and Me ‘thank you’ package. “Our members could not operate without the generosity and selflessness of these volunteers, and we are very pleased to do our part in recognizing the work of these individuals” says Carroll.
