The Canadian Federation of Humane Societies (CFHS) is the national voice for Humane Societies and SPCAs in Canada. We have members from coast to coast to coast, in nine provinces and two territories. We represent our member societies on issues of national importance.

The staff and members of the CFHS can be an invaluable resource to the media, offering information or comments on a wide range of animal welfare issues, including (but not limited to):

  • Animal cruelty legislation
  • Puppy mills
  • Responsible pet ownership
  • Dog bite prevention
  • Breed specific legislation
  • Intensive farming and livestock transportation issues
  • Municipal animal control bylaws
  • Animal sheltering
