In Canada, we are fortunate to have government subsidized health care to cover our medical costs when we or our family members become sick or injured. But what about our four-legged family members? Will you be able to pay for your pets’ care if they become sick or injured?
The easiest and most cost-effective way to make sure you can provide your beloved pet with the best possible medical care, should the need arise, is to obtain pet insurance. With the amazing developments in veterinary medicine over the past few decades, pet hospitals now have many of the same advanced diagnostic equipment and treatments that are available in human hospitals. Obviously, this comes at a cost.
Having pet insurance allows pet owners to provide care for their animals that they might otherwise not be able to afford. Nobody wants to be faced with the decision of having to euthanize a beloved pet because they cannot afford the hundreds or thousands of dollars required to treat the animal.
The CFHS encourages pet owners to consider obtaining pet insurance to protect their animals as well as their pocket books.
Petsecure pet insurance has recently received the endorsement of the CFHS for their new Adoptsecure program, specifically for animals adopted through humane societies or SPCAs. Through this program, adopting pet owners will receive a voucher for six or eight weeks of complimentary insurance coverage, depending on the age of the animal. In addition to the obvious benefits to adopters and their new pets, this program will also benefit the CFHS and participating humane societies by regular donations from Petsecure.
The CFHS sincerely thanks Petsecure pet insurance for their generous contribution to animal welfare and looks forward to a mutually beneficial partnership. You can get more information on their website at www.petsecure.com
