The CFHS promotes the enactment of federal, provincial and municipal legislation that protects animals from cruelty and provides a framework to ensure animals are treated humanely and with respect.
On March 19th the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies in association with the PEI Humane Society and the Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Centre at the Atlantic Veterinary College, UPEI, Charlottetown, PEI hosted a webinar titled Free-roaming cats, Issues and new ideas for their survival presented by Dr. Margaret Slater of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
