Provincial legislation

Provincial Animal Protection Laws

All of the provinces and territories have animal protection laws. However the laws do not deal with the same animal welfare issues, nor do they provide the same level of protection to animals. You can find the text of the laws for each province and territory below. To find out more about enforcement of the various laws, you may contact the provincial or local SPCA or humane society.
