P.E.I. Humane Society Names New Executive Director

Dr. Norma Guy, President of the P.E.I. Humane Society volunteer Board of Directors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelly Mullaly as Executive Director of the P.E.I. Humane Society, effective April 1, 2009.
Ms. Mullaly joined the Society as Development Coordinator in 2005, developing and implementing a number of successful fundraising and marketing initiatives.
“The Board is confident that Ms. Mullaly has the experience and ability to build on the P.E.I. Humane Society’s strong foundation and will carry the organization forward into the next phase of its growth. She has proven herself to have an excellent understanding of animal shelter issues and is dedicated and enthusiastic leader within the society team. In her previous role as development coordinator, Ms. Mullaly was responsible for a number of successful fundraising and marketing initiative that have already had an enormous positive impact on the activities of the P.E.I. Humane Society,” says Dr. Guy.
Mullaly relocated to the Island in 1999 having spent almost 15 years in the television and radio industry in various positions as Producer, Writer/Researcher and Host/Actor. She may be familiar to residents of eastern P.E.I. as the former co-owner and operator of “Happy Red’s Train Station” in Hazelbrook. She is also a former employee of the law firm of Matheson, Murray in Charlottetown. Mullaly lives in Stratford with her partner Ron, and their 4 pets, all of which were adopted from animal shelters or rescued.
The P.E.I. Humane Society is a non-profit organization, providing protection, care and adoption services for thousands of lost, homeless and abandoned companion animals across the Island. The work of the P.E.I. Humane Society is made possible by the generosity of individual and corporate donors and volunteers.
